We are organizing a mission trip to SonSet Solutions in Elkhart, Indiana this summer to pack radios and possibly help with other projects like moving things.  They usually have two teams come each month for a half day or full day usually on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. They set up tables and people can sit and pack boxes of radios. This is a project that can be done by Junior High teens up to seniors/elderly. They also provide a meal and a tour of the tech facility.  If there are older teens and younger adults who are strong, they have other lifting and moving jobs that they could use help with also.

We had originally started planning this for Summer of 2022.  They currently have openings starting in the last half of June through the summer and beyond. Teresa Vitale is considering leading this trip.  

Travel takes around 6 hours if you avoid the worst of the Chicago rush hours. We are suggesting driving down and camp for one or two nights. An idea Chris H has is to camp at her parent’s church which has a gymnasium with rooms off the side or at a local campground.  Indiana Dunes State Park is along the route and that might be a place to visit on the way there or back to add a little fun. Oxbow Park by Elkhart would also be a place for free time activities.
