Frequently Asked Questions

Hi! We're glad you have heard about Marquette Community Church and we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you in person! Until then, we hope these answers can help make you more comfortable for your first, second or one-hundredth visit to MCC!

The best way to get to know MCC is to join us on Sunday mornings. We hope to see you this weekend!

Q: What time are Sunday Services?
A: Our Worship Services begin at 8:30am In-Person & Livestreamed & 10:30am In-Person
unless it is a special event (Christmas or Easter might be a little different). You'll find people of all different ages, backgrounds and life experiences. It's very normal to see people wearing casual to dressy casual clothing. You can blend in and be comfortable here if you are visiting. You are welcome to join us just as you are.

Q: What kind of music do you worship with?
A: We have fully embraced "contemporary" worship music for many years, but still enjoy an occasional hymn. Our worship band has many talented musicians who desire to draw us all closer to a worship experience than simply put on a performance.

Q: I have kids. Will they have activities on Sundays too?

A: Kids are of tremendous value to us at MCC! A couple bullet points to help with the plan for kids:

At 9:30 AM every Sunday we offer a Graded Sunday School Program for infants - adults. We use the Answers in Genesis curriculum which provides Christ-centered Bible studies that immerse the entire church in the story of the gospel—God’s plan to rescue His people from sin through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We have a staffed nursery during Sunday School and the Worship Service for infants to 4 year-olds. You can check your kid(s) in before service and pick them up at the end of service so you can fully engage (and rest a little) during worship.

Q: What does Marquette Community Church believe?
A: We are an Evangelical Free Church who desires to see all people committed to and following a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you would like to see specifics of what we believe, you can click here for more information.

What To Expect

Our prayer for every gathering is that you would feel welcomed and loved and that you wouldn't leave the building thinking about how cool our artwork was, how funny the preacher was, or how awesome the guitar player in the band was. We want you to leave our gathering amazed at God's radical love expressed through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

If you don't remember anything when you leave our gathering except how radically awesome Jesus is, we view that as a huge success!

Walking into a new church can be intimidating and at times terrifying depending on your previous church experience. If you are considering attending one of our worship gatherings, we pray that you would take the vulnerable step and come check it out! We can't fully describe what you will experience, but at least we can try to give you an idea of what to expect.

On a Sunday morning you might see some people in a suit and tie, others in a t-shirt and shorts, and a lot of in between.  We believe that God doesn't expect us to clean ourselves up before we come to Him and His church; so we say, come as you are.  Our worship gatherings usually last around 60 minutes and include weekly worship through music, the preaching of God's Word, prayer, and the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday each month.  We also periodically celebrate through believer's baptism.
