New Here?
Walking into a new church can be overwhelming, intimidating, and possibly even terrifying depending on your previous church experience.
We strive for a loving, relaxing, and comfortable environment that will allow you the freedom to come and explore.
On a Sunday morning you might see some people in a suit and tie, others in a t-shirt and shorts, and a lot of in between. We believe that God doesn't expect us to clean ourselves up before we come to Him and His church; so we say...Come Just as YOU are!
It is all about Jesus!
If you don't remember anything when you leave our gathering except how radically awesome Jesus is, we view that as a huge success!
If you are considering attending one of our worship gatherings, we pray that you would take the step and come check it out! We can't fully describe what you will experience, but at least we can try to give you an idea of what to expect.
Our worship gatherings usually last around 60 minutes and include worship through music, the preaching of God's Word, prayer, and the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday each month. We also periodically celebrate believer's baptisms.
Worship Service
Our Worship Service is designed to be the high point of the week. We purposely design our worship service for Fellowship, Excitement, and Expectation.
Fellowship: Our primary purpose is to come into fellowship with God through praise, worship, and His Word. Our secondary purpose is to fellowship with one another and do life together.
Excitement: Corporate Worship is a special time designed by God so that we can be with Him and He with us. As a result we come excited to meet with God.
Expectation: Since God meets us in our corporate worship, we enter each service with great expectation of God's work in our midst.
Frequently Asked Questions
Hi! We're glad you are interested in learning more about Marquette Community Church and we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you in person! Until then, we hope these answers can help make you more comfortable for your first, second or one-hundredth visit to MCC!
Q: What can I expect at a Sunday Service?
A: Our Services are offered In-Person & Livestreamed unless it is a special event (Christmas or Easter might be a little different). You'll find people of all different ages, backgrounds and life experiences. It's very normal to see people wearing casual to dressy casual clothing. You can blend in and be comfortable here if you are visiting. You are welcome to join us just as you are.
Q: What kind of music do you worship with?
A: We have fully embraced "contemporary" worship music for many years, but still enjoy an occasional hymn. Our worship band has many talented musicians who desire to draw us all closer to a worship experience than simply put on a performance.
Q: Will my kids have activities on Sundays too?
A: Kids are of tremendous value to us at MCC! A couple bullet points to help with the plan for kids:
- Every Sunday we offer a Graded Sunday School Program for infants - adults. We use the Answers in Genesis curriculum which provides Christ-centered Bible studies that immerse the entire church in the story of the gospel—God’s plan to rescue His people from sin through His Son, Jesus Christ.
- We fully embrace Family-Integrated-Worship, meaning that our children worship with us as family, because they are family! We believe that the way we welcome children directly affects the way that they respond to God, to church, and to one another. They should be just as much at home in God's house as we are. And RELAX! Our church members know that God put the wiggle and the giggle into the little children, so please do not feel the need to suppress it in God's house!
- There are Sermon Activity Bags available at the main entrance of the sanctuary, these bags contain a children's activity bulletin, crayons, and often a small toy.
- For infants to 4-year-olds, we have a staffed nursery available during both Sunday School and the Worship Service. You are welcome to take advantage of this safe and secure ministry.
- The service is also broadcast on television in the foyer if you feel you need to step out of the sanctuary for a minute to calm an anxious little one, and don't hesitate to come back in and rejoin in the service!
